Their latest C.D., “DMQ Live”, was recorded at a popular Sierra Madre restaurant, Café 322, and epitomizes what their music is all about: straight ahead, high energy jazz. Pianist Curtis Brengle adds virtuoso fire to the rhythm section, and trumpeter Kye Palmer and saxophonist Chuck Manning comprise one of the strongest front lines on the L.A. jazz scene. Together these guys swing hard and have a lot of fun playing the music they love. “The high musicianship and infectious spirit result in their being an easily recommended release.” -Scott Yanow- L.A. Jazz Scene “Their music is drenched in the old school Blue Note post bop of the late ‘50s and early ‘60s when the clean uncluttered production style of Rudy Van Gelder ruled the roost.” -Paul Anderson- Pasadena Strar News “Excellent…endlessly gratifying music.” -E.J.
