ELLIOTT CAINE
Elliott Caine, arranger, composer and trumpet player for the band, is a Los Angeles musician who has
performed with Teddy Edwards, Larance Marable, Al McKibbon, Ernie Andrews, The Machito Orchestra,
Bobby Matos, Jump With Joey, Wycliff Jean, Beck, and numerous other notables.  Elliott has toured the U.
S., Europe and Japan, and has performed on live television and radio throughout the world.  Additionally,
he has received a Platinum Record for his work with the rock group, Filter.

Musicians associated with the group, either through performance and/or recording, include Michael Rose
and Chuck Manning on tenor sax, David Ralicke on baritone sax, Justin Reinhardt on piano, Bill Markus
and Trevor Ware on bass, Willie McNeil and Joel Alpers on drums.  These musicians have performed
with artists as diverse as Donald Byrd, Beck, Ozomatli, et al.  Additionally, West Coast Jazz standouts,
Larance Marable, Justo Almario, Ramon Banda, Anthony Wilson, and Greg Kurstin have performed and
recorded with the group.

Ted Hendrickson, of Jazzweek.com writes “Blues From Mars is a fine hard-charging bebop effort with
strong ensemble arrangements….The band also displays a nice Afto-Cuban feel…Caine’s trumpet is
lyrical at all speeds. Eschewing the dazzle in favor of the song and everyone follows his lead.”  The
critically acclaimed first release, “Orientation”, featuring original compositions, has received generous
radio airplay across the USA, being the “#1 most added” for jazz, nationally.  It eventually reached #29 on
national radio’s Gavin List in January of 2000.  Pasadena Star-News says, “Jazz enthusiasts who
appreciated the great masters; Miles Davis, Lee Morgan, Art Blakey, and Donald Byrd should check out
the sounds of trumpeter Elliott Caine”.
